IBM designs Artificial Brain

Hi guys.With the advent in technology , most of the human organs has come artificially.We can use pace makers in instead heart , similarly there are many such advancements.How ever designing a structure like brain remained a dream because of its Artificial intelligence is reacting to the real world.But with the use of same brain, Modha a senior principal investigator in DARPA projects.They are working in project SYNAPSE ( Systems of Neuromorphic Adaptive Plastic Scalable Electronics, or SyNAPSE) which deals with the design of brainby using congnitive chips.Today computer uses Convectional chips by Von Nuemaaan Architecture which consumes more power.Cognitive chips function in a spreaded processor and parralel manner , the same way as brain functions.There are working in 5 phases of which the first phase is already done.In the first phase they have built in chip which rewires automatically in response to situations.They are successful in using this first phase output in automation testing.Currenlty the second phase has started.They have formulated to desgin a brain chip with 10 billions neurons and 100 trillion synapses which will behave more powerful than brain.So it seems , we are going to have artificial brain in another ten years , if not more than that.Thanks for your time.For more interesting news , keep visiting my blog.Spread the greatness of the site to others.
